had a great flying weekend. On Friday, my girlfriend and I loaded up the club Citabria and flew 4 hours to a grass strip in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Weather was stellar and the flight was 'quick' with groundspeeds of 85 knots. Spent the weekend with many friend from www.pilotsofamerica.com and also seeing the townspeople. Several other pilots came to the fly in and the locals were really interested in airplanes. short flight report and some pictures at greencastle-aero.blogspot.com more pictures at picasaweb.google.com/cherokee373y/6Y92007

then when I got back on Sunday my friend from Ames, IA called and said to bring the Ercoupe over on Monday. So monday morning I flew with a student in a 150 for an hour and then made the 1.5 hr flight from Green Castle to Ames in the Ercoupe. Had to land once for high oil temp. Flew formation for the last 5 miles with a friend in his Ercoupe. What fun! Came back this morning and now I have to work :(

yes the Mini-Z was great! I can't wait to fly with it in my glider, will be a huge help there I think. One funny thing was that I had to get used to being able to be organized. I've been flying without a kneeboard for a while now so being able to keep all my junk in one spot was something new.

Looks like you guys had a blast. Kent was telling me about this the other night. I gotta find some fly in's like this out on the west coast. That looks like such fun. Any one out there know of any cool camping fly in's out here? Maybe we need to start one.
