I have the option to fly either a 152 or Czech Sport Cruiser as part of my effort to build time. The cost between the 2 is minimal so not a factor.

I have 120 hrs with a instrument ticket.

My biggest concern is the safety of LSA's vs the tried and true model of the 152. Also I have read ( this months flying mag ) and from an instructor that most accidents in LSA's are not from new pilots but from pilots transitioning from heavier aircraft ( most of my time is in a 172 / S around 99%

any opinions.

I have been flying a Sport Cruiser through most of my training and since getting my ticket. I LOVE the SC. I started originally with a 152 and the difference is significant. The SC is much roomier, more responsive and I think more fun to fly. Besides that, it just looks cooler!

Definitely get several hours of instructor time. There are differences (low wing vs. high wing just to start) but once you get comfortable I think you will love the Sport Cruiser too. The visibility is awesome!
