Very embarrasing moment this morning when i was to have taken my check ride for private pilot and discovered that i didn't have enough cross country hours and was sent packing - good news was that i didn't fail the test because i wasn't technically qualified to take it.
the stickler was the requirement that cross country involve flights to other airports that are a minimum of 50 straight line miles from the departure airport.
my question to the community is whether the X Country dual instruction must also be on trips of over 50 nautical miles as it isn't really clear from FAR 61.1.3ii(b) vs. 61.109a1
I now have the X country time but question whether the X Country dual instruction time on the IACRA should be "normal" X Country training or 61.1.3ii(b) time.
Thanks
Chris
