Incredibly there was decent soaring forecast for Saturday. I had to drive 3 hrs though to get a tow, as a stadium TFR was shutting down operations at my home airport. Weather turned out to be worse than forecast with high cirrus obscuring the sun and ruining the thermals. I did manage to find some weak lift on my second tow so set out downwind hoping for the best. of course nothing else was found and down I came. I picked out a really nice alfalfa pasture to land in, and rolled to a stop right next to the house. crew was able to drive right out to the glider. piece of cake. soaring is probably done with for the winter, got a lot of stuff to do to get ready for next year.
