Hello,

I took my Discovery flight a couple of months ago and finally got to realize, at least for about an hour or so, a nearly life long dream of flying a plane. Naturally, I want to continue training but there is the whole budget thing I need to worry about. I am saving my pennies to get the $5k-$7k estimated cost the local flight school says is the average to get a PPL, but I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to get a bit ahead in the game and maybe make things a bit cheaper and still keep my interest level up. Should I try to find a ground school? Buy some training books/DVDs/etc.? Anything I can do with a home flight simulator on my computer (I already have one as my love of flying dovetails into a love of flight simulators)? I could try to eek out a lesson here and there, but I'm thinking the most I can do without saving a bunch of cash beforehand is maybe one a month or so.

Thanks.
