 Post subject: MAGNETO CHECK

Hello,

I fly a DA 40 that consistently has higher a higher than 50 rpm drop between the L and R mags. Maintenance can not find a problem. What kind of problems will this cause?

I'm not really sure what would cause it, however if an A&P has checked it out and found everything to be OK, I would not worry too much about it unless its a very large difference.

If everything else checks out and each mag runs smoothly it may just be one of those unique things to that airplane.

How big of a difference are we talking about?
